Millennial city sights combined Western culture and traditions of the East: The Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda, where since XVI century Kazan people have been living, the Sukonnaya Sloboda — industrial transformations of Peter the Great, the fountain square, Kaban lake — its secrets and legends, stylized village "Tugan Avalym" ("Home Village"), new Puppet Theatre, Kazan University, the Liberty Square — cultural and administrative centre of Kazan. The oldest Marjani Mosque and the Bogoroditsky Monastery, where one of the oldest lists of Kazan ikon of the Virgin is kept.

If you in Kazan and don't take a Bauman Street tour — most ancient street in the city — you'll miss the most important part. The State Bank, an old bell tower and the Church of the Epiphany, where F. Shalyapin was baptised. You will meet the Mother of Water (Su Anasy) , learn the history of the Kazan Cat and see the copy of the luxurious carriage, on which in 1767 Catherine II arrived with a visit. Moreover, tourists will be attracted by the luminous gift shops showcases.
While the tortillas will be baking in the oven, the tour guide will be carrying an interactive museum tour. Museum exposition allows its visitors to learn about Gorky as an outstanding writer of the XX century. Museum halls demonstrate biographical and art stages of Gorky's life, beginning from the first publication of the "Makar Chudra" story (1892) in "Caucasus" newspaper in Tiflis to an unfinished novel "The life of Klim Samgin" (1936).
The way of the great opera singer F. I. Shalyapin to his mastery started in Kazan. Here he was born, started singing in a church choir and got his first impression from meeting with art. All the materials presented in the museum show what an important role Kazan time (1873-1890) played in Shalyapin's life on his way to triumph and glory.

Tatar village (Tatar Avyly) museum complex tour.
The Tatar ethnographical museum and a petting zoo under the open sky. All the Tatar settlement traditions and a mode of life of the Middle Ages are fully saved here, where one can immerse into the past and return to the present. Ancient traditions and initial crafts are kept in here. The pride of the museum is the windmill, which was build by women during the Patriotic War. Besides, on the territory of the museum there is a forge, wearing and pottery workshops, a bathhouse with a stove venting into the room and a kiln for firing. On the territory of the reserve one can walk wherever they want, watch and touch whatever they need.

Island-city of Sviyazhsk tour.
Sviyazhsk is an ancient fortress, which was built in Ivan the Terrible times, in order to serve as a military outpost in Volga region and as a place for military units training for campaigns to Kazan fortress. The fortress was build in Uglich, then it was disassembled, rafted down the Volga river and build again on an island. In a tour path in Sviyazhsk unique historic monuments are included: the Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy to All the Sorrowing", one of the oldest wood Russian temples — the Holy Trinity Church, functioning Uspensky Monastery with its architectural assembly of the 16-17th centuries, a stable yard and craft workshops, Christmas Square, from where one can enjoy the view on water expanses and the Uslon Mountains.


Archaeological tree museum "Tatarskaya slobodka"
It is located in posad part of Sviyazhsk near the river station. It's the most contemporary museum of the island-city, which was established in September 2018. The building looks like a hill covered with grass, it's located in the place of archeological excavations, where the whole blocks of historical development of Sviyazhsk in XVI-XVIII centuries were found. Foundation and walls of Middle Ages buildings and pavements were located in the same place where they were found while excavations. Visitors can walk across the actual streets of the ancient town, see old coins, toys, jewellery, dishes, shoes, details of buildings, which were discovered during excavation. The museum brilliant is a huge animation panel, made by the artist Rashit Safiullin. Panel depicts Sviyazhsk fortress, ancient monasteries and temples, XVII century houses, and also citizens of the town. Each of them is depicted in a motion and minding their own unique business, depending on their status.

White-Stoned Fortress tour (90 minutes).
The Kazan Kremlin is the main sight of the city, monument of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's the official residence of the President of the Republic of the Tatarstan and a state museum-reserve, which is annually being visited by thousands of tourists. White-Stoned Kremlin is the heart of an ancient city, which has embodied culture both of the West and the East. The minarets of the Kul Sharif mosque rise up here and cupola of the oldest orthodox Annunciation Cathedral are shining like gold. On the fortress territory there is one of the Kazan symbols — famous "falling" hanshi Syuyumbike Tower.

1. The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan (1 hour 20 minutes).
Constant museum exposition is the history of the region beginning from the ancient times to nowadays by showing landmark events and people lives. Special attention is drawn to 100 year-old history of Tatarstan in 1920-2020, there one can see historical materials about social, political, economical and cultural life, about achievements and traditions of that multicultural nation.
2. Lenin House Museum (60 minutes).
Historical biographical and memorial museum expositions tour. It shows how the Ulyanov family is related to Kazan and Kazan region, Lenin's participation in students meetings and N. Fedosyeeva Marxist circles. The museum exposes Kazan meaning in the beginning of the revolution way of Vladimir Ulyanov. Visitors will have an opportunity to be set in an ambience in which an outstanding person of XX century lived.
3. Innopolis tour (90 minutes).
You're going to visit a city, which was built using high technologies. You're going to hear about the basic tools for living in the city — residential areas, kindergartens, general education school and IT-Lyceum, you will learn about the way Innopolisians live and get useful advice — what else one can see in the city and where to eat.
4. Socialist life museum (60 minutes).
Kazan socialist life museum is a tour to the Soviet past. It's situated in a former communal apartment in a 19th century building, where since the 70-80th almost nothing has changed: the same old walls, wiring and cast iron batteries. All the exhibits can and should be touched — Soviet industry worked hard and faithfully, so it's not easy to break them. The number of exhibits include Pioneer and Komsomol attributes, money, cosmetics, cigarettes and alcohol, toys, table hockey and old kaleidoscope, Soviet sport and army artefacts.
