Irkutsk is a city that can tell the whole contradicting history of Russian Siberia: this story is mainly devoted to the extraction of natural resources and the exile of state prisoners. In some city districts, the atmosphere of the 19th century has been preserved to this day with the old wooden houses of the emigrants. You will visit Maria Volkonskaya's house-museum. Sometimes Maria is called Princess Siberia. She was the wife of a Decembrist revolutionary who voluntarily accompanied her husband into exile. After the museum tour, you will visit a market to buy local specialties, e.g. pine nuts, herbal tea, etc.

After breakfast we are going to visit the Gorki-Terelzh National Park (70 km from Ulaanbaatar) to get to know the life of modern nomads.
Terelzh National Park is one of the most beautiful places in Mongolia. You can walk slowly through the meadow with many wild flowers, graze on the fascinating rocks with mountains covered with pine trees in the background and wander through the wooded edge of the mountain stream.
